DAAC was founded in the honor of Timothy Barbato in 2013. Tim taught many people about how to be joyful in life despite being paralyzed from the neck down and needing a ventilator to breath while sleeping. DAAC's mission is to provide care for people with disabilities, their family, and their caregivers to maintain a holistic caring environment.
Tim coined the term "Differently-Abled" when he was in school telling his friends, "Just because I am disabled doesn't mean I cannot do anything, I just do things differently. We are all differently abled in our own ways!!"
Tim's sister founded DAAC after getting her license in 2010 in Massage Therapy. She saw the need for more in-home care with alternative therapies and treatment through massage therapy for children. DAAC believes that in order to help those around you, you must take care of your needs first, and so we also provide care for the entire family!
After living a wonderful 16 years, Tim died from complications of H1N1 in 2009. Now his legacy lives on in the lives of those he met and through DAAC's mission to love the people around us.
